Nestled in a scenic forested area in Lewis County, ‘Alpine Annie’s’ offers the perfect place for a family or close friends to experience the outdoors. Spend your days exploring Mount Rainier National Park or skiing White Pass followed by sipping hot cocoa to get warm and cozy by the gas-powered stove! If you’re traveling for ski season, the home’s heated floors will thaw at those toes after a long day on the slopes.
Start your morning with a hot cup of coffee on the comfortable L-shaped couch in the living room and map out which hike you want to do first. Prepare a hearty breakfast in the fully equipped kitchen and enjoy a sit-down meal at the 4-person dining table. From the rowing oars to the antique skis on the walls, you’ll love the unique mountain decorations.
When you’re not out exploring the Washington wilderness, relax on the huge outdoor deck with your travel companions. Enjoy a peaceful reading session in one of the Adirondack chairs or watch for birds in the forested surroundings.
Celebrate your first night at the cabin by preparing a chargrilled feast on the grill and enjoy a formal meal with your loved ones. Wake up early in the morning and prepare a huge pot of chili to enjoy when you get home from skiing White Pass!
When it’s time to hit the sack, walk upstairs to the open loft to drift to sleep on the cozy four-poster queen bed or twin-over-twin bunk bed. Additional accommodations can be found for up to 2 guests on the memory foam sleeper sofa in the living room.
THE LOCATION
‘Alpine Annie’s’ rests in a secluded, mountain park neighborhood only 7 minutes away from the quaint town of Packwood. For any winter sports lovers, this cabin is about 30 minutes from the well-known White Pass Ski Resort. Enjoy over 1,400 acres of beautifully maintained alpine, cross country skiing, and plenty of family-oriented events throughout the year!
Packwood has plenty of different places to stock up on supplies including a grocery store and an outdoor gear supplier. The Mountain Goat is a perfect spot to grab a coffee on the days you’re exploring the city!
When you’re not grilling at the cabin, drive into town to dine at one of the delicious eateries. Some local hot spots are Cliff Droppers, Blue Spruce Saloon and Diner, Josie’s Italian, Cruisers Pizza and more. Blue Spruce also offers live music if you’re interested in a night on the town throughout your stay.
There are a variety of different hikes within a short drive of the house. Walk around up to 4 story-tall trees at the Grove of the Patriarchs Trail, explore the Tatoosh Wilderness, or visit Reflection Lake. Find one of the local vantage points for Mt. Rainier and enjoy the stunning views of this volcano.
The Cowlitz River is a short walk from the house and is an excellent place for a summer walk. This river stretches all the way down to the Washington and Oregon state border and is a fantastic place for fishing salmon 6 months out of the year!
